Principal Investigator. Transform the We’re Ready! Community Disaster Preparedness Workshops to become We’re Ready! Plus (WR!+) as practicum opportunity for social work students and emergency management students. WR!+ incorporates training on community engagement and facilitation; GBA+ to promote Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; link between disasters and environmental sustainability; the Community Resiliency Model® (CRM); and practice research. Evaluate effectiveness of WR!+ in increasing students’ capacity to work in disaster contexts, compare effectiveness of online versus in-person formats, and identify ways in which WR!+ can be institutionalized and implemented across Canada in a sustained capacity.
